Operator Story – Para is making private accounts easier to use on Miden

The “Operator Story” series explains why teams become Guardian operators on Miden: the use cases, infrastructure needs, and market opportunities that make Guardian worth operating.

‍

Para builds embedded wallet infrastructure for apps that want to make onchain finance feel familiar. Users can sign in with email, SMS or a passkey, while Para handles wallet creation and key management behind the scenes.

That matters for Miden. Private financial applications need an experience people can use without learning how a blockchain works.

Para is now a Guardian operator on Miden, extending its role from helping users access accounts to supporting the private account infrastructure underneath them.

The problem with usable private accounts

A simple sign-in is the beginning of a financial product. Users also need to return to their accounts, move between devices and recover after losing a phone.

On public blockchains, account data is available from the public ledger. Miden keeps private account data offchain and uses zero-knowledge proofs to verify valid updates. Balances and transaction history can stay private, while the network still checks that the rules were followed.

That makes dependable backup and synchronization part of the infrastructure a private financial app needs.

From embedded wallets to Guardian operation

Miden and Para’s existing partnership gives builders a way to offer familiar onboarding for Miden accounts. Para’s wallet tools handle authentication and signing.

Guardian supports the private account data: backing it up, keeping it synchronized and making it available for recovery. It also coordinates approvals for accounts with multiple signers.

Para’s Guardian is now running on Miden partner mainnet. Operating it gives the team direct experience with the account infrastructure that private wallets and applications depend on.

Why Miden and Guardian

For a wallet infrastructure provider, private account support is a natural extension of the work. A developer building a payments app needs both a straightforward way for users to sign in and dependable infrastructure for the accounts they use.

Miden provides the privacy model. Guardian helps make private accounts practical to operate. The user retains control of the account, and the Guardian operator cannot move their funds on its own.

That distinction matters as more financial activity moves onchain. Easier onboarding should come with a clear account model: who can sign, how account data is backed up and what happens when a device is lost.

What’s ahead

Para’s first step as a Guardian operator is supporting private account infrastructure on partner mainnet, alongside its existing wallet integration with Miden.

The broader opportunity is to help builders bring private payments and financial applications to people who expect familiar sign-in and reliable access to their money.

For Miden, Para brings a wallet infrastructure team into the Guardian operator network, connecting experience in user onboarding with the day-to-day operation of private accounts.
